Not helpful at all

I called with a chest infection as I couldn't get a GP appointment. They said to get a GP appointment even after telling them I couldn't get one. They weren't helpful at all.

They have been good

Good. I used them a few times and they were great at advising us or sending us onto A&E or an appointment with the GP. I have never waited very long either.

Need to improve communication

They can get you an appointment very quickly but they need to improve communication with the GPs. They send you to the GP surgery at a particular time and when you get there you have to wait for a long time.

Not very helpful at all.

I called due to an allergic reaction for my son and was told to go to the GP but it was closed. The pharmacy was more helpful. Staff were professional and generally nice but the system is the issue.

My sister will only see a certain doctor at our surgery and twice I have tried to get an appointment with them but haven't been successful. NHS 111 have helped me to make this happen. They are very good at that.

Always useful when the children are sick. They ask questions and give advice. They will tell you to go to hospital if they think you need to.

A very good and helpful service but they ask so many questions before taking any action.

NHS 111

NHS 111 is much more than a helpline – if you're worried about an urgent medical concern, you can call 111 to speak to a fully trained adviser.

Depending on the situation, the NHS 111 team can connect you to a nurse, emergency dentist or even a GP, and can arrange face-to-face appointments if they think you need one.

NHS 111 advisers can also assess if you need an ambulance and send one immediately if necessary.
